NEW: THEME OF THE ~~WEEK~~ UNTIL SOMEONE CHANGES IT

* Participation is completely optional. There are no rewards for completing your theme-related oekaki. Themes are based on the preference of the artist who draws a picture at the beginning of the week. Please state in your description if you are drawing art related to the theme. All other rules stated in the scrollbox below apply.

- NOTICE BY HIKARI:
The server moved to a new platform and deleted the old database without my knowledge. Because of this, all of the old data was lost and no backup was found. I have (obviously) since reinstalled the oekaki board. All old rules were lifted for the time being until things get reorganized.

General Oekaki Rules
x. Please spend MINIMUM 30 minutes on a picture, including safety saves. If a safety-save is under 30 minutes, you have 24 hours to update it before it being deleted by administration.

x. Do not start a new oekaki if you have another unfinished one. Both will be deleted.

x. Please finish your picture within a week of the date originally drawn.

x. Use common sense and maturity when commenting on other people's artwork.

x. Please mark all mature oekaki as adult.

x. Respect all members and admins.

SocketPermission errors: If you're having trouble with SocketPermission erorrs when submitting pictures with the applets, try using Internet Explorer or Opera. The Firefox 2 version of the Java plugin is confirmed to have a network connection bug. Sun says newer versions of Java have been fixed, but may only work correctly with Firefox 3.

I am so happy with the outcome of this picture! ^-^

Because it's the first picture of the week, I declare the new theme "Blue" - interpret it as you wish.

This is my character Raziel. Yes, he IS an angel. Not your usual kind, though. x] He is one of the main characters of a story I'm working on called "Falling Petals".

I'm not sure about this picture. I couldn't decide what I wanted to draw, and then I realized I wanted to do some sort of action pose off the top of my head. And so this spewed out. I may go back and re-touch a few things in the future, but for now.. here you have it!

If I could be King, even for a day,

A random return from the dead to bring you an important announcement!

"Wax Poteto" OekakiBBS has been discontinued by its creator, Waccoon - therefore, I will no longer update or check up on this oekaki board. I will, however, leave it up and under its current management.

For those that would like a replacement for "Wax Poteto", I set up a Wacintaki board. The creator is keeping up with this project, but I realize not everybody may like it, this is why I'll be leaving this board alone. I also have no problem if you choose to use both boards - no reason to.

For the time being, the new board has no rules other than the usual netiquettes. Rules will be set in place as they're called for.

Ahh, mais oui!

I ended up being able to finish this this morning. x]

For those that don't know, 'jeux de l'amour' means 'games of love'.

I was talking with my boyfriend, and I was feeling really down and didn't know what to draw. He suggested this, and together we planned out the picture. I'm really happy with the outcome. Simple, et magnifique! hahaha

The [young] man on the moon's in love with an earth girl~

Well, I dunno. I want this to be Adam Lambert, but he ended up looking a bit like a Jonas Brother..?

I'm not myself today, so I figured I'd try to pick myself up with some artwork. Didn't really work, but whatever.

I guess this works for the contrast theme, because I made his skin & face so detailed and then I just made his shirt & hair pixelized.

For those of you that don't know, Adam Lambert is one of the current contestants on "American Idol". I want him to win~ (and yes, I know this picture gives him too much hair)

So I was plotting out a story I would no doubt never actually write, and decided to draw out the main characters. But that's not important.

Anyway, I'm fairly sure I'm the first person this week, so the theme will be Mirror/Contrast. Interpret it however you please.

This is great. Just looking at the characters makes me intrigued. They're so different and wonderful. Really great use of simplistic linework and block colors to get an idea across. Your eyes are beautiful, by the way. x]
